Mahanagar Gas Limited appoints Praveer Kumar Srivastava as Managing Director

The Board of Mahanagar Gas Limited has approved the appointment of Praveer Kumar Srivastava as Additional Director and Managing Director of the company for a period of five consecutive years, effective April 30, 2026, subject to shareholder approval. He will serve from April 30, 2026 to April 29, 2031, or until further orders from GAIL (India) Limited, whichever is earlier. He will also join various Board committees from the same date.

He succeeds Ashu Shinghal, who will step down from the position on the same date.

Srivastava is a Chemical Engineer from IIT Kharagpur and a certified Energy Auditor with over three decades of experience at GAIL. He has held leadership roles in planning, strategy, business development, gas management and project execution. He has contributed to initiatives including green hydrogen projects, hydrogen blending pilots and small-scale LNG development.

He played a role in formulating GAIL’s Strategy 2030 and its Net Zero Action roadmap. Srivastava has also been involved in India’s first Hydrogen Blending Pilot Project and the development of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM)-based green hydrogen production facilities.

He currently serves as Executive Director (Western Region) at GAIL, overseeing operations, maintenance and marketing across the Western Regional Pipeline Network.
