KPI Green Energy begins power supply from 92-MW hybrid project in Gujarat

KPI Green Energy Limited said it has commenced power generation and supply to the state grid from a 92.15-megawatt hybrid power project in Gujarat.

The project was awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited under the competitive bidding process for hybrid renewable energy projects, KPI Green Energy Limited said in an exchange filing.

The project, with GUVNL as offtaker, has an aggregate contracted capacity of 92.15 MWp, comprising 16.95 MW of wind power capacity and 75.2 MWp of solar power capacity.

The project has achieved grid synchronization, and power injection into the grid has commenced, well ahead of the scheduled completion timeline of July 2026.

Additionally this week, the company announced securing approval to connect 32.40 megawatts of solar and hybrid projects to the main electricity grid.

In an exchange filing, the company said it has developed these projects for clients of its subsidiary company.

“We have received charging/energization approval for 32.40 MW of solar and hybrid solar power projects under our CPP business segment,” it added.

In renewables, a charging/energization approval is the regulatory permission granted by grid operators for a renewable energy (RE) project to connect to the main electricity grid, after clearing necessary parameters.

The charging approval has been received in the name of the respective clients, it said.

KPI Green Energy Limited, is the solar and hybrid vertical of KP Group. It is a Gujarat based solar and hybrid power generating company.

Incorporated in February, 2008, the company is majorly focused on providing solar and hybrid power through different Business verticals.

The Company develops, builds, owns, operates and maintains solar and hybrid power plants through as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) and as service provider to Captive Power Producer (CPP) under the brand name of ‘Solarism’.
