The statement noted that the milestone was achieved in November 2025, marking a significant development for India’s solar manufacturing sector and the wider renewable energy industry.

With an annual manufacturing capacity of 19.7 GW, Waaree stated that the achievement reflects the scale of its operations and its expanding global order book. The company noted that the record output underscores India’s growing capability in high-volume solar manufacturing.

According to the company, the 1 GW monthly production level was supported by fully automated and vertically integrated manufacturing facilities, a domestic supply chain, advanced production lines, and continuous operational processes designed to maintain high precision and consistency.

Industry observers note that the milestone positions India more prominently in the global solar manufacturing space. The development is expected to boost confidence in domestic solar technology, strengthen the country’s ability to meet increasing demand, and support ongoing efforts to build a self-reliant and export-oriented renewable energy ecosystem.

Commenting on the development, Executive Director at Waaree Energies Limited, Sunil Rathi, said, “This is a historic moment for Waaree Energies and for India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem. Producing 1 GW of solar modules in a single month is a nation first, and it reflects our team’s dedication, technological expertise, and the trust our customers place in us.”

Headquartered in Mumbai, Waaree operates advanced manufacturing facilities with a total solar PV module capacity of ~22.3 GW worldwide and a solar cell capacity of up to 5.4 GW.

With a footprint across India and over 25 countries, Waaree offers a diverse portfolio spanning solar panels & inverters manufacturing, EPC services, green hydrogen solutions, battery energy storage systems, green energy infrastructure, and data centres.
