Unveiling India SAF Conclave 2025

The inaugural edition of the India SAF Conclave will be held on September 15, 2025.

The event will be graced with the presence of Rohit Kumar, Secretary General, SAF Association; Jimmy Olsson, President, SAF Association and Founder, ZR2 Group; Vijay Nirani, Vice President, SAF Association and Managing Director, Trualt Bioenergy; Mashar Velapurath, Managing Director, AFC India Ltd.; and Maneesh Kumar, Joint Director General, Directorate General of Civil Aviation. 

A special address on the Industrial Scenario of Uttar Pradesh will be delivered by Shashank Chaudhary (IAS), Additional CEO, Invest UP. 

Dr. Anita Gupta, Head of the CEST Division, Department of Science and Technology,  will deliver a special address, followed by a keynote address by Shaji K V, Chairman, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). 

The event will be further enriched by a special address from Benedikt Hoskuldsson, Ambassador of Iceland to India. 

The Chief Guest, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Hon’ble Minister of Civil Aviation, and Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas will be gracing the occasion.

A significant highlight of the event will be the launch of the Knowledge Report by SAF Association and Deloitte titled “Roadmap for Scaling SAF in India”, along with the signing of an MoU between SAF Association and Asia SAF Association (ASAFA) to advance the adoption and integration of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in India and Asia.

Special Session: Advancing Growth of SAF in India for Driving Global Net Zero Aviation
This session will focus on the policy and partnership frameworks required to accelerate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) adoption in India. Key priorities include establishing a clear national policy with blending targets, developing SAF-ready infrastructure at major airports, and implementing regulatory and financial incentives—like subsidies, tax breaks, and expedited project approvals. 

Special Session: India’s Leadership in SAF Feedstock – Unlocking Investments & Future Opportunities
In partnership with AFC Ltd., this session will explore India’s growing leadership in SAF feedstock development and the financial ecosystem required to support it. With the potential to produce 8–10 million tonnes of SAF annually by 2040, India is well-positioned to drive global aviation decarbonisation. 

There will be a theme address and presentation by Mashar Velapurath, Managing Director, AFC India Ltd., setting the stage for in-depth discussions on strengthening SAF feedstock and investment ecosystems. 

This will be followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SAF Association and AFC India Ltd. to jointly advance sustainable feedstock development and capacity building in India. 

A report titled “Capacity Enhancement and Stakeholder Empowerment across the SAF Value Chain in India”, jointly developed by SAF Association and CBR Sustainability Partners, will be launched. 

There will be special addresses by Satyanarayana, Chairman, Marketing and Partnership Committee, and Group Managing Director, Green Lubes Malaysia SDN. BHD.; Rajeev Chadha, Governing Council Member, SAF Association and Managing Director, Greenways BioEnergy Pvt Ltd.; and Ganapathy Arumugam, Chairman, SAF Feedstock (SAF Association) and President, Enhanced Biofuels and Technologies LLC, USA. 

There will be insights from Manish Dabkara, President, CMAI and Chairman, SAF Association Carbon Market Committee; and Sanjeev Rohilla, Chief General Manager, NABARD. 

There will be an address by the Guest of Honour, Sangita M Kasture, Advisor and Scientist ‘G’, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The event would also recognise the contribution of important stakeholders in the way forward for SAF and net-zero aviation, by way of India SAF Awards 2025.
