Green energy company Serentica Renewables has announced a major expansion plan. The company aims to build an additional 6.5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity by December 2027.

This new capacity will increase Serentica’s total operational power from 1 GW now to 7.5 GW. According to CEO Akshay Hiranandani, a significant part of this growth, about 3 GW, will come from projects with government-owned utilities. This means 40% of the company’s power will be supplied to government agencies.
The company has already made strong progress this year. In the first five months of the current financial year, it signed agreements for 650 MW of new projects. These deals are with major government players like NTPC, SECI, and NHPC. The projects will combine solar, wind, and storage technologies to provide reliable power. These new plants will be built in states including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
Serentica, established in 2022, focuses on providing clean energy to large industries that are difficult to decarbonise. Looking further ahead, the company has an even bigger goal for 2030. It plans to have 17 GW of operational capacity by combining renewable energy with large-scale storage systems.
By 2030, Serentica aims to supply over 50 billion units of clean electricity every year. This effort is expected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 47 million tonnes annually, supporting India’s green energy transition.
