RailTel Begins Construction of 10 MW Silver Jubilee Data Centre in Noida

RailTel, a Navratna CPSE under Ministry of Railways performed Bhoomi Puja for its upcoming 10MW data centre in Noida, which will be developed in partnership with Techno Electric & Engineering Company Limited (TEECL). 

The ceremony was conducted by Sanjai Kumar, CMD/ RailTel, in the presence of V Rama Manohara Rao, Director/Finance, Manoj Tandon Director/POM, Yashpal Singh Tomar , Director/NPM, Parag Kumar Goyal, PED/Enterprise Business, Ankit Saraiya, Director & CEO, Techno Electric and other senior officials from RailTel and TEECL.

According to the official statement, this development is in line with the vision of Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Spanning over 17,000 Sq. Mtr., the upcoming RailTel’s Silver Jubilee Data Center in Noida shall be developed initially for 10 MW capacity.

As per the statement, this is strategically located in Phase 2, Noida, a developing hub within Uttar Pradesh’s digital and industrial corridor. 

The Data Centre facility will be complying with the latest industry standards, thereby offering a wide range of services like Hosting (Shared as well as dedicated), Co-location, Managed Services.

Commenting on the development, Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “This data centre is in line with the Digital India Mission as envisioned by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji. This domestic data centre will help meet Bharat’s data localization requirements and strengthen National data security.”

Furthermore, Chairman & Managing Director, RailTel Corporation of India, Sanjai Kumar said, “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to the Digital India mission.”

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Navratna PSU under Ministry of Railways, is a neutral telecom infrastructure provider in India and an end-to-end IT & ICT service provider.

RailTel has an optical fibre network of 63,000 RKM along the railway tracks, a 21,000KM citywide access network, and 1100 telecom towers nationwide.

TEECL is an EPC service provider in India’s energy sector listed company on NSE and BSE with over US$ 1.5 billion in market capitalisation.

The company is also expanding its footprint in emission control projects and renewable energy, including wind, solar and Battery Energy Storage projects.
