PESB Invites Applications for Chairman and Managing Director Position for SJVN

PESB (Public Enterprise Selection Board), under the Department of Personnel and Training, has announced that it is inviting applications for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) for SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam) Limited. 

Incorporated in 1998 as a joint venture of the Union Government and the State Government of Himachal Pradesh, SJVN has grown into a diversified energy company with operations across hydro, solar, wind, thermal, transmission, and power trading. 

Headquartered in Shimla, SJVN currently operates 12 power projects and two transmission lines, with a total portfolio of 92 projects amounting to 67,907 MW. 

PESB declared that to be eligible, applicants must be at least 45 years old and hold a degree in engineering, chartered accountancy, cost accountancy, or a postgraduate/MBA qualification.

Candidates must also have at least five years of cumulative experience in finance, operations, business development, project management, or related areas in a large, reputed organisation.

Preference will be given to those with experience in executing power and hydro projects.

Eligible applicants include serving executives from CPSEs, Central and State Governments, Public Sector Banks, Armed Forces, and private companies with an annual turnover of ₹5,000 crore or more.

Candidates from the private sector are required to provide audited reports for the last three years and proof of board-level experience.

The appointment will be for five years or until the date of superannuation, whichever is earlier. It was further announced that the deadline for submission of applications is 3:00 PM on October 14, 2025, while nodal officers can forward applications until October 23, 2025, through the PESB portal.
