Hero Future Energies signs Rs 30,000-crore pact with Andhra Pradesh for RE projects

Hero Future Energies (HFE) signed a pact with the Andhra Pradesh government to develop renewable energy generation projects with a total capacity of 4 GW across Ananthapuramu, Kurnool, and Kadapa districts, envisaging investment of Rs 30,000 crore.

The projects reinforce Andhra Pradesh’s position as one of India’s leading renewable energy destinations, HFE said in a statement.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Srivatsan Iyer, Global CEO of Hero Future Energies, in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Visakhapatnam, on the sidelines of the AP Govt – CII Partnership Summit.

In addition, State Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed renewable energy agreements worth nearly Rs 3 lakh crore ahead of the 30th CII Partnership Summit here. 

The summit will be held in the city on November 14 and 15. 

Chief Secretary K Vijayanand said the investments span pumped hydro storage, green hydrogen, wind, solar, biofuels, and energy storage, and are expected to generate up to 70 lakh jobs across the state.

Hero Future Energies (HFE) is a global renewable energy company and part of the illustrious Hero Group, headquartered in London.

The company has a global portfolio of 7.2 GWp – RE and 2.3 GWh – BESS assets across India, Ukraine, Vietnam, and UK of operating or under-construction projects. 

Apart from traditional wind and solar PV assets, the portfolio comprises CUF projects such as hybrid power, peak-power, firm dispatchable power and emerging technologies projects such as energy storage, green hydrogen, and its derivatives.
