Gentari and UltraTech Cement Launch India’s First On-Site Hybrid Renewable Energy Project

By Enersider Desk | New Delhi

Clean energy solutions provider Gentari, has partnered with UltraTech Cement Limited, India’s largest cement manufacture, to commission the country’s first of its kind Hybrid Round-The-Clock (RTC) renewable energy project. The 7.5 MW facility, located at UltraTech’s Sewagram Cement Works in Gujarat, integrates solar, wind, and battery storage to deliver uninterrupted green power to the cement plant.

This innovative project sets a new benchmark in India’s clean energy transition by addressing the challenge of intermittency in renewable power. By co-locating solar panels that are equipped with both bifacial modules and trackers, wind turbines, and battery storage systems, Gentari ensures a reliable and consistent energy supply for UltraTech’s operations. Shard Pungalia, Country Head of Gentari India emphasised the collaborative nature of the project, stating, “This wasn’t built in isolation – it was co-created with UltraTech to deliver a solution that is both sustainable and operationally viable at scale.” The facility highlights Gentari’s focus on customer-led design and integrated engineering energy demands.

This project underscores Gentari’s strategy to expand firm, renewable power solutions across the Asia-Pacific region. It also aligns with the company’s broader mission to drive decarbonization through renewable energy, green hydrogen, and clean mobility initiatives. For UltraTech Cement, the hybrid renewable energy system marks a significant step toward reducing its carbon footprint while maintaining operational efficiency. As industries increasingly seek sustainable solutions, this project serves as a model for scalable, clean energy integration in heavy manufacturing sectors. With this milestone, Gentari reinforces its position as a leader in innovative clean energy solutions, paving the way for more industrial renewable projects in India and beyond.
