In a major move to expand its clean energy storage, ACME Solar Holdings announced on Monday that it has placed a large order for a 2 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The order has been placed with Chuzhou Lishen New Energy Technology Co., a leading global supplier, through its partners POSCO International and China FAW Group.

This new equipment will be delivered in parts over the next six to ten months. It will be used in ACME’s projects that provide reliable renewable power (known as FDRE) and in standalone battery storage projects. These projects are expected to be up and running within the next 12 to 18 months.
This is the company’s second big battery order recently. In July 2025, it had ordered 3.1 GWh of storage. Together, these orders take ACME’s total battery procurement beyond 5 GWh.
Nikhil Dhingra, CEO of ACME Solar, said this strategic purchase ensures they have the storage systems ready on time. This helps reduce risks and speeds up the overall completion of their renewable energy projects.
ACME Solar is a major player in renewable energy with an operational capacity of 2,890 MW from solar, wind, and storage projects.
Officials from the partner companies also commented. Jason Lee from POSCO International called India the world’s most promising market for battery storage and said this deal is a big step forward for them. Lu TianJun from Lishen stated that this agreement will help expand energy efficiency efforts in India and create a strong base for long-term growth.
The deal highlights the growing importance of large-scale battery storage in supporting India’s transition to clean and reliable renewable energy.
