Vibrant Gujarat Conferences to Highlight State’s Green Energy Dominance

By ANI | Gandhinagar, Gujarat

Gujarat is set to highlight its role as a renewable energy leader at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences. The state is pushing forward with its ambitious goal to generate 100 GW of renewable energy by 2030.

The conferences will spotlight Gujarat’s major green initiatives. These include massive renewable energy parks, new offshore wind projects, and modernized power grids, all aimed at meeting energy needs and climate goals.

Aligning with national targets, Gujarat has already passed a key milestone: over half of its installed power capacity now comes from renewable sources like solar and wind. A major driver of this growth is the world’s largest hybrid renewable energy park being built in Khavda, which will have a huge capacity of 37.35 GW. The state is also pioneering new areas, hosting India’s first nearshore wind pilot project and aiming to produce a large share of the country’s green hydrogen by 2030.

In North Gujarat, solar power is the dominant force, making up 94.4% of the region’s renewable capacity. Patan district is a standout, home to the large Charanka Solar Park. The village of Modhera has also made history as India’s first fully solar-powered heritage village.

These efforts, along with support for national schemes, position Gujarat as a global clean energy frontrunner. The conferences will offer a platform for investors and partners to explore opportunities in the state’s growing green ecosystem.
