REnergy Dynamics Secures Two CBG Projects in Tamil Nadu

By Enersider Desk | New Delhi

REnergy Dynamics (RED) has secured two Waste-to-Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects from Refex Renewables in Tamil Nadu, strengthening its presence in the southern market and reinforcing its position in the waste-to-energy sector.

The projects include a 12.5 tonnes per day (TPD) CBG plant in Coimbatore and a 10 TPD CBG plant in Salem. Both facilities will use the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (MSW) as feedstock and deploy two-stage mesophilic anaerobic digestion with Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) technology to ensure efficient processing and optimized gas yields.

Under the agreement, REnergy Dynamics will undertake Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) along with one year of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for both plants.

Both the projects are expected to process nearly 550 tonnes of municipal solid waste daily. According to the company, the facilities are projected to displace around 2.9 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually while also reducing landfill dependency and improving urban waste management systems.

“The partnership is based on a shared vision of developing scalable waste-to-energy solutions that support sustainable waste management and clean energy transition”, said  Kalpesh Kumar, Managing Director of Refex Renewables

The company said the projects are expected to generate more than 250 local jobs across operations, logistics, and plant management. The initiative is also expected to contribute to reducing India’s fossil fuel import dependence through an estimated annual foreign exchange saving of ₹30 to 35 crore by domestic biogas production.

Kushagra Nandan, Chairman and Managing Director of REnergy Dynamics, said, “Securing two projects from Refex Renewables is a significant milestone for REnergy Dynamics. It reflects the strength of our execution capabilities and the growing confidence in our ability to deliver large-scale, sustainable bioenergy infrastructure.”

He added that partnerships of this nature are important in accelerating India’s transition toward a circular energy economy where waste is converted into a valuable resource.

The project wins shows the company’s techno-financial EPC approach and focus on execution excellence. REnergy Dynamics’ new projects will help the company strengthen its work in building biogas plants, managing waste-to-energy solutions, and expanding its presence in growing regional markets.
