Annual Business Conclave by Enersider Spotlights Sustainable Energy Innovations in India

The first edition of the Annual Business Conclave: The Energy Dialogues by Enersider was a roaring success. The one-day event followed by the Future Energy Leaders Award Show (FELAS) saw a packed audience.

Annual Business Conclave (ABC) had multiple sessions covering the entire gamut of energy. 

The inaugural panel featured addresses from Vibha Dhawan, Director General, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI); Mohit Bhargava, Country Director, India Energy & Climate Center, Goldman School of Public Policy (GSPP), UC Berkeley; Abhishek Ranjan, Chief Executive Officer, BSES Rajdhani; and Erik Solheim, Global Climate Leader, GH2 India and former Minister of the Environment and International Development, Norway. 

During the inauguration, the Special Edition of the Enersider magazine and a new publication – Enersider Infra – were unveiled.

There were exclusive sessions on climate action, natural gas, green hydrogen, net zero transition, and bioenergy. 

These sessions were curated by Enersider’s strategic partners—Chintan Research Foundation (CRF), GH2 India, Natural Gas Society (NGS), Netzero Energy Transition Association (NETRA), and Indian Biogas Association (IBA).

The Energy Dialogues: Climate Action session had a panel discussion titled “Decarbonisation Without Disruption – Road Map for India’s Energy Transition” and was moderated by Debajit Palit, Centre Head at the Chintan Research Foundation (CRF). 

The panel brought together distinguished experts, including Vaibhav Chowdhary, Director at ACPET; Arun Goyal, Former Secretary to the Government of India and Former Member of CERC; Aarti Khosla, Founder-Director of Climate Trends; Sangeeta Kaushik, Former Executive Director of Corporate Planning at NTPC Ltd; and P. C. Garg, Principal Advisor at NSEFI. 

The discussion focused on outlining a balanced and practical pathway for India’s energy transition.

Anil Sardana, Managing Director, Adani Energy Solutions in his address talked about the pertinent issues in the sector.

The session on Natural Gas began with a welcome address by D. V. Shastry, Executive Director of the Natural Gas Society (NGS). 

In the session full of presentations, Kapil Kumar Jain, Executive Director (Marketing) at GAIL India, spoke on unlocking the potential of small-scale LNG, followed by Pratibha Bijay, GM (O&M – Operations Excellence) at Mahanagar Gas Ltd, who presented on advanced digital operations and control centers. 

Vinay Krishna Srivastava, Managing Director of Vadodara Gas Ltd, shared the inspiring journey of building strong CGD infrastructure from humble beginnings and Shankar Karajagi, Director – Commercial at Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd (MNGL), highlighted the role of digital technology in expanding CGD in India.

S. Ravishankar, Chief Executive Officer of Alethe Labs discussed how new-age technologies are transforming natural gas operations. 

The session concluded with a presentation by Mohit Bhatia, Director (Commercial) at Indraprastha Gas Ltd, on “India’s CGD 2.0,” focusing on how CBG, LNG, and digital transformation are redefining the sector.

At the conclave, the Energy Dialogues: Green Hydrogen session began with the pre-release of GH2 India Digest and an opening address on the green hydrogen market outlook by Nishaanth Balashanmugam, Director at GH2 India.

The panel discussion, “From Vision to Bankable Scale — Building India’s Green Molecules Market,” also moderated by him, brought together key industry leaders, including Robbi Rajasekharam, CEO of KPI Green Hydrogen and Ammonia; Manish Tripathi from International Sales & Marketing at AM Green Group; Sanjeev Sharma, VP–Business Development & Corporate Strategy at GH2 Solar; and Prem Bharti, GM (Renewables & Green Hydrogen) at Oriana Power. 

The discussion focused on scaling up green hydrogen initiatives in India, addressing challenges in financing, technology adoption, and creating a viable market for green molecules.

The Energy Dialogues: Net Zero Transition commenced with an opening address by Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, Founder and President of the Netzero Energy Transition Association, who also moderated the panel discussion titled “Ambition to Implementation – Can India Deliver Net Zero at Scale?” 

The panel featured prominent experts including Amit Jain, Global Lead on Storage and Senior Energy Specialist at The World Bank; Anjali Jain, Consultant at NITI Aayog; Dr. Mridula Bharadwaj, Co-Lead, Technology Roadmap and Policy Group at the International Solar Alliance; Nishith Kumar, Vice President – SBD, Policy & Regulatory at Suzlon Energy Limited; and N. Mohan, Director at the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). 

The discussion explored the practical challenges and opportunities in translating India’s net zero ambitions into actionable and scalable solutions.

The event concluded with the session on Bioenergy that featured a special address by Tanuj Sharma, Senior Assistant Vice President at Invest India, followed by a fireside chat titled “Why Bioenergy Matters in India’s Net Zero Pathway” between Gaurav Kedia, Chairman of the Indian Biogas Association, and Rohit Dev, Founder of Reveille Energy, discussed bioenergy’s role in sustainable transition.
