Volvo Construction Equipment India Debuts EC215 Excavator at EXCON 2025

Volvo Construction Equipment India introduced EC215 excavator at EXCON 2025, South Asia’s construction equipment exhibition, with a product- and solutions-focused display aligned to the theme “Bharosa Har Mod Par – Trust At Every Turn,” an official statement said.

The company also presented a range of equipment and services aimed at addressing requirements across construction, mining, and material-handling segments in India.

According to the official statement, the EC215 excavator has been developed for Indian operating conditions. Following the launch of the EC210 in the previous year, the EC215 expands the company’s medium excavator portfolio in the 20–22 tonne category. 

Marketed under the “Zyada Ka Vaada” positioning, the EC215 focuses on performance, fuel efficiency, operational uptime, and overall value for customers.

The company also showcased the SD110 compactor, intended for road construction and compaction applications, with an emphasis on durability and lifecycle returns. 

In addition, Volvo CE presented the L120 Electric Wheel Loader, which is now commercially available in India, reflecting the company’s growing focus on electric and low-emission construction equipment. 

The display included a pre-launch presentation of the EC650 heavy excavator, marking its first showing in the Indian market and targeting large-scale construction and mining operations.

Alongside equipment, Volvo CE highlighted its services portfolio, including Equipment-as-a-Service models, digital machine monitoring, operator training solutions, productivity management tools, and support services. 

According to the statement, these offerings are designed to support fleet management, reduce downtime, and maintain equipment performance over the operating lifecycle.

During the event, Volvo CE also shared updates on its upcoming Technology Centre in Bengaluru. 

The facility is expected to focus on research and development, localization, and product engineering for both domestic and international markets, contributing to the company’s global development activities.

Commenting on the participation, Managing Director, Volvo CE India, Dimitrov Krishnan, said , “EXCON 2025 reflects our continued focus on delivering solutions that address the real needs of the Indian market.”

He further added, “The EC215 is built on insights gathered from customers operating across India, delivering stronger productivity and improved fuel efficiency where it matters most.”
