KP Group Teams Up with International Partners to Build Green Ammonia Plant in India

By PTI | New Delhi

In a significant move for India’s renewable energy sector, the KP Group has announced a major partnership to build a new green ammonia facility. The Indian company has joined forces with South Korea’s AHES and GH2 Solar Ltd to establish a plant capable of producing 100,000 metric tons of green ammonia every year.

The collaboration was officially sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was signed by KPI Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Pvt Ltd (a part of the KP Group), AHES Co Ltd, and GH2 Solar Ltd.

A key feature of the deal is the commitment to produce and supply this large volume of environmentally friendly ammonia. Green ammonia is made using renewable energy sources, like solar or wind power, instead of fossil fuels, making it a clean alternative for industries and fuel.

The partners, AHES and GH2 Solar, will be responsible for arranging buyers for the entire output. Importantly, AHES has also committed to being a direct offtaker, meaning it will purchase a significant portion of the ammonia itself. This project represents a major step in India’s green energy transition and strengthens international cooperation in the fight against climate change.
